MISSION
Our mission is to win the lost to Christ and his Church, disciplining those who respond by involving them in worship, study, fellowship, service and the ongoing task of evangelism.
VISION
This vision and plan have been put together by Joel Committee members and members of our congregation who have shared their thoughts since the visioning process began over a year ago.
We envision a church where:
- Unchurched people can hear the Good News of Jesus Christ communicated in a way they can understand;
- All hurting, confused, frustrated people can find love, acceptance, forgiveness, guidance and encouragement;
- Believers are maturing in their relationship with God, know their spiritual gift(s) and are equipped to minister in Jesus’name;
- At least 25 acres will be developed for ministry to the whole person - emotionally, physically, socially and spiritually;
- No member rests until North Middleton Township has been evangelized with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
A Fifteen Year Plan: Implementing the Vision
2002-2005; 0-3 Years
- Unite around a common vision;
- Maintain and improve the present building;
- Build up the existing ministries of Sunday School, Youth Fellowship and worship;
- Offer at least one traditional worship service while using a second one to experiment with different forms of worship which appeal to younger generations (music and multi-media);
- Purchase some land with Future Fund assets (25 acres minimum);
- Establish a Joel Committee to dream about what could be.
2005-2009; 3-7 Years
- Begin a first phase of Development - construct a multi-purpose building for various kinds of community outreach, like sports oriented ministries, new worship services, etc., and one that would support established events, like the Chicken Corn Soup Festival;
- Purposely design the structure so it is easily and cheaply expandable should growth occur;
- Add more staff (paid) as needed (1 for every 100 in worship);
- Expand ministries to all ages, from children to senior adults.
2009-2017; 7-15 years
- Construct a pavilion, band shell, sports field area, etc.
- Break the 200 barrier in worship attendance.
